@brooklynspoke.bsky.social love the Court St. redesign and appreciate you and the CB defending it publicly. When it comes time for fixes/hardening, I suggest this floating spot by Pacific, which is always parked in creating a blind spot for bike trying to cross Court. I submitted to DOT too.

Has anyone noticed/reported on the fact that the formerly robust @mta.info and @nyctsubway.bsky.social social media accounts (X and here) no longer engage with real time complaints or provide detailed information on delays/disruptions? What happened? cc @nyc.streetsblog.org @2avesag.as

The city has ceded Foley Sq and its crosswalks, ADA ramps, and hard-won pedestrian refuges and bike lanes to NYPD and its infinite supply of panic gates despite no protest activity in months. Anyone in gov’t care? @nyc.streetsblog.org @kevinduggan.bsky.social @emilylip.bsky.social @dmey.bsky.social

@nyc.streetsblog.org @dmey.bsky.social @kevinduggan.bsky.social @emilylip.bsky.social not to cosplay as assignment editor, is there a story in the fact that the courthouse district and Foley Sq have been rendered virtually impassible because of all the NYPD panic gates, despite no protests in weeks.

State of the Mayor’s Race update: young woman next to me on the 7 train asked her friend if Brad Lander was the “cool white guy” in the debate last night. They’re ranking him #2.

This is embarrassing for @citizensunionny.bsky.social. Laughable to have this be the justification to @hellgatenyc.com for your Cuomo endorsement and expect people to take the organization seriously going forward. hellgatenyc.com/email/960d9f...

Very funny and predictable that in this article that quotes multiple restaurant owners in the CBD talking about the neutral to positive impact congestion pricing has had on business, Andrew Rigie waves his hands at anonymous, unnamed others who are having vague problems. www.amny.com/news/congest...

@benjaminkabak.com Adams is celebrating his case's dismissal by having the NYPD fly its helicopters around lower Manhattan at low altitudes below the height of nearby buildings.

Love to commute down the Schermerhorn St. bike lane and have to dodge tractor trailers, personal vehicles, and NYPD vans using it as their personal parking lot. What a well run city.

We love our wonderful NYC media, ignoring the giant boulders designed to keep them out and abusing their “press” license plates to park directly on the ADA ramps outside the federal courthouses. No one hates safe streets more than local media. @placardabuse.bsky.social @nyc.streetsblog.org

A positive indicator of the @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social momentum: signs up at both the family-owned burrito spot and the bougie florist in Boerum Hill.

Well, she voted to approve Trump’s cuts to the VA, but she also held a press conference no one covered and wrote a letter no one will read, so who’s to say she hasn’t been fighting back?

FYI the interminable 4th Ave. reconstruction work is back and the bike lanes in the 20s are now gone. All so we can get raised medians and trees at some point (although I haven’t seen any where work has been completed). @bikesouthbklyn.bsky.social @bikenewyork.bsky.social @nyc.streetsblog.org

I was skeptical that all the empty streets @ndhapple.bsky.social was documenting downtown weren’t weather or holiday-related, but this is Broome St. approaching the Holland Tunnel on a mild Sunday afternoon and there’s no car traffic. This is usually river to river gridlock with endless honking.

This article is about street design, but now is the time for an enforcement surge on illegal bus lane (and loading zone) parking, which can be done immediately with no planning or “community input” and which combined with congestion pricing, will immediately deliver faster bus service.
