Don't we all love handypersons, etc, who don't show up? I got a letter that someone would come by this afternoon for a check-up after my landlord changed the gas company (for our furnace). Well, the 2-hour window given in the letter ended 10 minutes ago... 🙄

2024 has been a really difficult year for me and only seemed to be getting more difficult, more exhausting. I've been stuck deep in (autistic) burnout and compassion fatigue for months now. The latter feels particularly hard, as counselling/pastoral care is one of the things I love most about

It isn’t “against the collective”

It isn’t “elitist”.

People who claim it is aren’t speaking from the left.

There are parts about my work that are uncertain at the moment. It seemed like I'd get a bit more clarity soon-ish. Instead I'm now filled with self-doubt & have to fight hard against the urge to give up & run away, which I know is a #traumaresponse for me...
