Who you should ask instead of ChatGPT:
A friend
A lawyer
The guys who sit on plastic chairs out in front of the corner store
The tarot cards
Yourself, in your journal
The cicadas singing in the trees behind your apartment building
The moon
Any librarian
An entomologist

Who amongst us hasn’t paused our favorite audiobook to beseech the universe: “can’t this narrator sound more uncanny valley? I also really want to hear the wails of starving voice actors in the background.”

Pay human artists, you despicable corporate ghouls.

A real actual ad I just got on YouTube: if you frequently go walking at night, you need this special forces flashlight that blinds people from up to 50 ft away!

Me to Roundcat: IDK, I would personally consider that to be a major design flaw in a flashlight.

I guess we may as well all decide now: should AI get an MFA? On the one hand it’ll give AI the time to write and get invaluable craft lessons, on the other hand maybe it’ll take away its unique creative voice and make it write like it has an MFA.

Today @stephenfruchtman.bsky.social coined the best term: a flannel floaf, to describe our floofkitten loafing on his favorite flannel shirt, which he dragged out of the laundry basket for floof-loafing (floafing) purposes. #cats

Watched the Gavin Creel memorial on YouTube. Powerful and moving, and really accessible, complete with asl interpretation.

I do kind of find it frustrating in a very on the nose kind of way that artist memorials and retrospectives are more accessible than their actual performances.

If you aren't even able to take the initiative to mask in public to protect other people from Covid because you'll feel self conscious, why would I believe that you won't obey the Trump administration in advance if you're put in a position where your actions will help them execute their agenda?

Shoutout to davidfolkenflik.bsky.social et al for their turn toward anti-antifascism. Alienating people while pandering to those who will never support you worked out exactly as well as it always does.

Today marks 300 days since Israeli forces killed 6-year-old Hind Rajab, her family members, and the medics sent to save her in Gaza.

For months, I have pressed the US government again and again on the killing.

How they’ve responded is shocking.

I continue to be gobsmacked by gamergate targets who decide to align with gamergate values and actual gamergaters. Like, she’s being mass blocked instead of constantly barraged with threats, and that’s worse, somehow?

The fascists are going to kill a bunch of people, and neoliberal systems and institutions are complicit. This is what comes from ignoring and normalizing a pandemic.
