Affinity – my favourite one-time purchase graphic design software – just went "freemium." Sigh... Time will only tell if this is the first step towards enshittification. Some thoughts here: stephvee.ca/blog/tools/e...

Happy Halloween, Bluesky! My monthly recap is up: stephvee.ca/blog/rewinds...

I unfortunately didn't have a chance to write all of the horror-related blog posts I had planned for this month, but I *did* get through a creepy novel that's worth checking out.

I had a major screen time setback yesterday and squandered almost the entire day on Reddit... Here's a short blog post on how I plan to deal with this sort of problem going forward: stephvee.ca/blog/digital...

Why am I not surprised? People who use this tech almost *always* use it to deceive.
Sora 2, Open AI’s new AI video generator, puts a watermark on every video. But the logo meant to help people distinguish between reality and AI-generated bullshit is easy to remove and there are half a dozen websites that will help anyone do it in a few minutes.

Some thoughts on the final three episodes of Alien: Earth. What a letdown. A master class in how to quickly ruin a good premise while making a mockery of the original IP. And to think, I was still optimistic about the show a little over two weeks ago...
