Agreed. It's a gorgeous, incredibly immersive game, but it's awful if you're a completionist and gets overwhelming very quickly. I'm generally a fan of RPGs, but I prefer those that provide a good balance between a tight main narrative and interesting OCCASIONAL side quests.

... you sign up for a "free" account. When you sign up for a "free" service, you are completely at the company's mercy; they can gate features behind the optional subscription plan at any time. This is not the case for software purchased under a perpetual license model.
