T3. Shorter hours for trainees was a controversial topic back then, and I think it still might be now. However, we need to really focus on the physiologic matter of how it might be more prudent to keep 24 hour schedules to 24 hours, and give fair scheduling to residents. #healthxph

T2. With improved sleep comes more energy and sharper thinking. So yes, we really must make ways to get regular hours when we can. In training, when off duty, one can prioritize sleeping as part of improved performance. In practice, it should be the same, non-necessities to be minimal. #healthxph
Let's move on to T2! @stephaniemiaco.bsky.social

T1. I would agree, definitely. For one thing, lacking sleep puts one into a foul mood, and in a line of work where "unconditional positive regard" for the patient is a necessity, one can be poorly performing as a therapist this way. #healthxph
Let’s go to T1.!

T1: Is There a Correlation or Causation Between Sleep and Physician Performance and Health Outcomes?

T1. I remember many times during training when i would fall into microsleep while writing out prescriptions. That was embarrassing... when I read it out, I couldn't even understand my own handwriting. #healthxph

I found this article very recently, when I was invited to do a reading from Vital Signs, by a writing mentor, Prof. Marjorie Evasco. What a fun afternoon that was.

I read a short story on the Duwende, as a physician.

T3. I miss the early days of Twitter talaga. Because I speak at conferences a lot, now it's meeting those who come up to you after a talk. Attending meetings and sending an email afterwards if another person's thoughts resonates with yours. #healthxph
T3. What method of connecting do you feel works best in gaining meaningful connections? Can you offer some suggestions? #healthxph

T3 Personal connections work best, often gotten through referrals, which start connections with a foundation of mutual trust. In sales, this is called working with your warm market. Initial barriers are already broken down, helping a free exchange of ideas. #HealthXPh

T3. Ma’am Iris did a lecture one time on social media and it was so inspiring that I couldn’t help but ask a question… and eventually I found myself working with her on #healthxph projects. Who would’ve thought! 😃 I have learned so much from #healthxph through the years. #healthxph

T3. Social networking seem to work for me to initiate connections, but face to face networking often solidifies that connection or is important if you are coming out with new ideas. #Healthxph

T3. If someone is lecturing and teaching something that I find very interesting, I usually have a question to ask… because I feel that this is always the best because it was something that was said in particular that piques my interest, and that leads to eventually a learning connection #healthxph

Throughout the pandemic, I learned that Cebuanos are ready to help when asked. Whatever we lacked in the hospital, we would ask and somebody from our networks would respond to help. When you're really down at your lowest point, that's the time you realize that you're not alone at all. #HealthXPH

T2. From a connectivist standpoint, it follows that one should be adept at curating, archiving, facilitating, creating or forming new info sets to push learning. All of these skills rest on one very important megaskill- active listening. #Healthxph

"weak ties" or those that have loose or indirect connections often have that best opportune for learning. #Healthxph
T1. One of the most concrete examples I’ve had with connections is being connected to #healthxph, via an invitation by Doc Remo @bonedocph.bsky.social to speak on #NarrativeMedicine back in 2016. Before that, we were part of an online blogging group. I learned a lot from both opportunities!
T1. Connections are a learning tool. How has it benefited your career so far? #healthxph
