Am I cynical thinking that the US never rescued Europe from the Nazi's in 1941, it Colonized the industrialized part and let Russia Colonize the rest.
The Western Alliance always was a smoke screen and Europe's trust wishfull thinking: as soon as the parts..

Might is Right
In Darwin's law of Survival of the Fittest, the Fittest doesn't necessarily mean Strongest. It means the Best Adapted to it's Environment - which may be the smallest, or the hariest or the skinniest, or even the most disarmingly giggly one.

MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO

T: So force is on the table?

M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland

Stephen Miller is Trump’s most important and influential aide because he channels and shares the president’s worldview. His cold-blooded assessment that might makes right is the one immutable law of history and is now the guiding concept behind US foreign policy…

Trump is weak at home, and he can be stopped – so long as the domestic political logic of foreign intervention is recognized and turned against him. This act of war is about regime change in the United States. It only succeeds if Americans allow it to do so.

"The legal assessment of the Russian intervention is complex and requires careful consideration. International law remains the guiding framework."

There are a hundred more important things to say, and I tried to say some of them in my essay for "Thinking About...", but: invading a country for oil is also just atavistic at this point. Even if it worked, which it won’t, it still wouldn’t work.

⚡️ Zelenskyy reacted to reports that the United States detained Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.

“If dictators can be dealt with like this, the U.S. knows what to do next,” he said.

Good discussion today with European leaders on our support to Ukraine, its security, and the reconstruction of the country.

Ultimately, the prosperity of a free Ukrainian state lies in the accession to the EU.

It’s also a key security guarantee in its own right.

For three years, all Western aid to Ukraine flowed through one vulnerable Polish corridor. That single-point failure risk is ending.
