The first dozen posts on “UK politics” this afternoon all talk about “Starmer” in a negative way. You have to acknowledge that concerted effort. It’s almost as if they’d be delighted if the government and the country failed.

I recommend taking a break from social media, even for just a day. If you’re “on” all the time, sometimes you fail to see the forest for the trees. Loads of anti-Trump/MAGA posts. Name calling may make you feel better but does nothing to heal the country or start to bring folk together.

I attach a link from an American lady whose writings I’ve been following for a while. In a world of toxic narratives, she provides superb context to current events. This one is an example of how history repeats. Rich men thinking that society works best with them in charge. Worth a read.
Woke up to more folk angst-ing about what Trump might/not do. As we get further away from the shock of the result, I get more optimistic. His overwhelming motive to stand again was to stay out of jail. Everything else was secondary. He’s just about achieved that. The sun is up. Overly optimistic?

I’ve given social media a break for a couple days but wow, the Starmer attacks are unceasing. Looks like Musk has ordered some of his X pals/bots to join BSky. 4 months after the mess of the last 14 years and he is “the worst PM ever”.

Laughed out loud when I read that his legal team want the case dismissed as it could create “unconstitutional impediments” to his ability to govern. How would they define the attempted coup Jan 6🙈

Can everyone get on board with the fact that Trump did not win a “massive mandate” from the American people? He polled less than 50% of the votes which means that more folk voted against him. Don’t let your country be destroyed by a Russian puppet.
