Self Employed. Sports fan. Love Hockey (Hurricanes fan), football, with other sports sprinkled in. Video game enjoyer (Destiny 2, Hitman, co-op games). In my spare time I'm learning how to develop a game in UE5.
I’m like 40% sure Tripp just said “he tried to go down on Bussi” and I’m like … sir this is a Bojangles. (Instead of Wendy’s, please clap) #Canes

So I’m conflicted because the score is 3-0 for the Canes but that wasn’t a good period overall. Do they deserve an outcome like that? Sure. But there’s still 40 minutes. Bussi faced 13 shots in that period. He faced 19 in the entire game his last outing.

It’s rare that I watch a Canes pregame but they released Mike Kelly from his little tv box jail. Hooray!

I don’t know what that shootout lineup was for the Canes. However they trailed 3 times and went 0/5 on the power play, gave up a shortie, and still managed to get a point.

Freddie held the team in it in the shootout too.

Some excellent passing by Chicago there. Takes the lead 2-1 over the Canes.

Watching today's Xbox showcase. They start off with Forza Horizon 6, which is going to Japan. I'm not much into racing games but the concept of driving around Japan is something I could get into. After visiting the country last year the one thing I didn't get to do was drive around it. #Xbox

Book 2 of the year complete. My first read of this kind of genre, and certainly won’t be my last.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles was a fun read for me. I now know what to look for in future books of this type. I wasn’t far off but loved the journey as it was all unraveled.

Now that I finished reading Foundation I decided to get out of sci-fi for the next novel.

Book number 2 of 2026: The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

Caught the ending of the PWHL game between the @bostonfleet.com and @pwhltorrent.bsky.social. What a game, that overtime was so thrilling. The commentary was also really great. Fleet get the win in the shootout

First book of 2026 is complete. I give Foundation a 4.5 overall.

I really liked this concept. I was content with the ending but had there been more to this book I would’ve been fine with wherever it took me. This was my first Asimov book, likely not my last.

I’ve been so busy I didn’t even have time to log in and talk about the Canes game. So happy for Andrei. And even more so for Andersen. Also I see you Aho with those helpers.

Who knew watching hockey could be so much fun? That was a 60 minute effort right there. So jealous of the Canes fans at the game tonight. They got to experience quite a show from the boys!

I’m glad that Florida decided to muck it up there at the end of the period. That should be a reminder to everyone on the Canes what their life is gonna be like for the next 20 minutes of gameplay. I hope they can stay composed, just deal with it with physical play.

The importance of winning a faceoff. Canes win the draw, a blast to the net, and a goal off a rebound.

I’m late to posting but oh my goodness that pass from Staal. Bob barely even moved while the puck was going by him. #Canes

Never watched Kai Cenet's content but this post going around about him dedicating time to read so much per day AND is so encouraging. I refer to my niece as an "iPad kid", and it would mean so much to me if someone she watches promoted reading. I think this is great and I hope he keeps it up!

Now that I see this result I do think the strategy was the right approach *in theory* w/ Andersen going vs the Red Wings and Bussi in when the Canes might not have much left in the tank. Bussi had been more consistent in bailing the out the team so far. It's backfired unfortunately.

I think the Broadcast talking about the Blues and interviewing former Blues' players is totally fine. What's there to talk about the Canes? I'd much rather ignore the random interview/conversation than hear Bucci butcher names and try to make this game interesting.
January 14, 2026 at 2:23 AM
Friendly reminder that this is a 3rd game in 4 nights for the Canes. If you want to go back even further, the Canes haven't had more than 1 night off since the Christmas break (December 27th).

They'll have two days off after tonight before they start another 3 games in 4 nights.
January 14, 2026 at 1:34 AM
Oh great and now the game is over and Ric Flair is yelling at me again. #Canes

"You can't miss that" Tripp says about NHL refs

NHL refs: "Why do you still believe that we're good at our job? LOL" #Canes
January 13, 2026 at 3:14 AM
Prior to the third goal, Aho has the puck on his stick with time and space. A weak clear and the puck doesn't get out of the zone. #Canes
January 13, 2026 at 1:47 AM
Really good defensive play by Stankoven, being in position to get the puck out of danger. #Canes
January 13, 2026 at 12:57 AM
Whatever
Canes are going to find all the ways to score a goal tonight without any of them counting.
January 13, 2026 at 12:55 AM
Honestly I have no complaints about the way the Canes have played this game so far.
