Being an ally means you're an ally even when its not socially or politically popular, accepted or safe.
I can't help but notice that as trans acceptance backslides that casual allyship amonst cis people, even those that claim allyship loudly, is down noticeably.
A few years ago, cis strangers would defend my pronouns, now it's back to mostly close friends, mostly queer people.
