Just in case anyone is confused by the leaks, Lucas having a clause in the Disney sale contract saying they could never #ReleaseTheOriginalTrilogy is fan theory nonsense. People saying Kennedy said they wouldn’t “touch it” are misinterpreting something she said when not hearing a question.

TAR IS REAL?! Howie Weed talked about “TAR” on @talkingbay94.bsky.social years ago, that they were working on a new perfected master before Lucas decided to make changes. It makes no sense and doesn’t fit into the timeline in any way, but someone sold a ”crew gift” of it?!

Fifteen years ago, I took it upon myself to recreate/upgrade the lost “What Has Changed” for the Special Edition section of the Star Wars website from 2006. It wasn’t long before I reported back that I had found “a few more” changes that weren’t in the original slideshow.

A friend asked me if I was going to a showing of Return of the Jedi tomorrow. I tried to explain that I would be insufferable at any screening of the Special Editions, what with my commentary and loud sighs.
If any venue wants me to come provide commentary or loud sighs over their screening, HMU.

We can dislike the Special Editions and still be touched by the end of “Ahsoka”. Lucas’s preferred versions can exist as “canon” alongside the historical theatrical editions. Every other movie series does this. Star Wars can do it too. #ReleaseTheOriginalTrilogy
