Dracula: 2004 is a modern(ish) adaptation of Dracula by Bram Stoker, set in the early 2000s. It is written and directed by Francesca Mylod-Ford (The Pilgrimage Saga and H.G. Wells Has His Regrets) and produced by Maddy Searle (The Prickwillow Papers, The Magnus Archives, Big Finish: Torchwood).

Hello, Dracula: 2004 fans, we hope you haven't died of thirst during our hiatus!

While you all wait for Part 2, we are working on some little additional bits of content to tide you over until March. In the meantime, we are now fewer than 100 downloads away from reaching our next goal of 10,000!

There has been an excellent little debate on Tumblr about this exact question! One person has suggested that "Carmilla" formed the foundational vampire concept in public consciousness, which I particularly like. Ultimately, we have kept things vague to allow listeners to make up their own minds 😊🦇
The conceit of Dracula: 2004 is so funny to me because ostensibly — vampires should exist as fable in this world, but markedly Not the Story of Dracula so really there can be no "oh this is like Dracula" moment which is such a fun parallel world to live and experience a story in.
