started this account on 🐥 to be an all-out fan of SRK—lovely actor & human being, women’s champion—stayed for all of Indian cinema, and the conversation—slowly but surely moving here 🦋 for the better vibes
Pinned
Re-pinning this, since it has much to do with why I love this man and thus my presence here.

It takes a lot of guts to tell a bunch of scientists & business people that LOVE will save the world. But SRK was being utterly serious.

"I’m sorry too, Dimitri. I’m very sorry. Alright! You’re sorrier than I am! But I am sorry as well. I am as sorry as you are, Dimitri. Don’t say that you are more sorry than I am, because I am capable of being just as sorry as you are. So we’re both sorry, alright? Alright.”

This is one of my favorite little copyediting points, because some people go "yeah, I knew this," some people find it a delightful revelation, and some people stamp their feet over it till they turn blue.
"till," in the sense of "up to a particular point," is an older word than "until"

it's not a clipping of "until," or slang, or anything other than a good, solid English word

OTOH, "'til," with an apostrophe, is a fey affectation

Seriously:

If you're staring at a sentence and sweating with anxiety because you think you may have committed a grammatical blunder but you're not sure, just...

REWRITE THE SENTENCE TILL YOU STOP SWEATING.
You should not be ashamed, not even a little. It is very often the best solution.

Shah Rukh’s body language work in this film is honestly underrated- it’s probably among the best ever by anyone in Hindi films. The climax is powerful, her world and everything she thought was real gets shaken up in a go. Quite a moment!

I see RNBDJ talk, so here are some thoughts on the film: I never had any issues believing that Taani wasn't recognising Suri. I'd do exactly the same, I forget faces a bit too easily. But, my key discomfort with the film is that she never gets to explore someone she may actually be attracted to-🧵
