Does anybody have any good suggestions for how to do minigames in a TTRPG? I've been thinking for a while and can't come up with any good ideas.
And no, I'm not just talking about making skill checks, that's just the game. I want something Zelda-esque that uses a unique mechanic.

GM Tip: The best magic items enable new strategies rather than just adding +1 to rolls. A cloak that lets you teleport to shadows you can see is more interesting than a +1 sword.

Finally done with the whole thing. What an absolute nightmare of a system.
I have been trying to transfer data from one PS4 to another for the entire afternoon, and I still haven't gotten anything sorted. Why have they made it this way, it's like pulling teeth with how difficult they made it!

What I’d do if I started making ttrpgs in 2026:
- Create zines initially
- Pitch to established publishers
- Focus on less art and better layout
- Don’t chase trends or awards
- Collaborate more
- Don’t rely on crowdfunding
- Promote unashamedly
- Judge success against your own progress

A Demon's Second Death, a brand new TTRPG by myself, is out now here: squizzgames.itch.io/a-demons-sec...
Designed for one shots and long term play & inspired by Demon Slayer and K-Pop Demon Hunters, players take on the role of Shinobi in historical Japan, hunting the demonic Onryo from the shadows.

Ended up baking a cake today. A simple vanilla sponge, but with a delicious salted caramel icing.
I've wanted to get back into baking for a while now, as I haven't really had the time for it until now. So glad it turned out so good.

I really want to get back into gamedev, but I already have so many other projects to get finished (like the three TTRPGs that I'm currently developing).
I just wish there were more hours in the day to get everything I want done finished 😭😭😭

My second interview in the SPINE design series is about book design with @explorersdesign.bsky.social. He discusses how designs can ground play, how book formats engineer expectations and use, and how books emulate other genres and objects. We also open the floodgates on the book design for D&D 3E.

I've been watching the NieR: Automata anime again. I really hope that we get an adaptation of the original Replicant/Gestalt, just because of the sheer number of direct references to it that are in the show.
I don't know how they'll handle the multiple endings, but I trust that they'll find some way

Finally managed to play my first game of Blood on the Clocktower! I managed to spread so much chaos and confusion amongst the entire group. Unfortunately, I was townsfolk.

Very fun, I highly recommend if you enjoy social deception games, lying to your friends, or causing chaos.

The Wild Robot, Flow, and Kpop Demon Hunters absolutely show people are still extremely hungry for animated stories that are not franchises. It just needs to feel authentic which, shockingly, comes when you let someone tell the story as honestly as possible without filing the edges off.

This is the best advice for how to be better at ANYTHING in TTRPGs. Be a fan of the other people and their roles. Love the other PCs. Admire the DM and get excited for their work. Geek out over the stuff your friends at the table are doing and want them to be happy!

Everything else will work out.
RPG tip: Be the characters' biggest fan.

Finally got around to finishing Andor. Incredible show, and a breath of fresh air to the Star Wars franchise. I wouldn't want anything else that tries to be just like it; what makes it special is that it's the only thing like it (in Star Wars media, I know that there are a lot of shows just like it)

I started watching JoJo part 6 when Part 7 was announced. I heard it wasn't that great, with a lot of Stands being too silly, but I now finished it, and it is maybe one of my favourite parts of the series. Most of the cast were great, even the villain, and I loved the energy that it brought.
