I think I figured it out, I’m feeling lonely and stretched thin simultaneously. Like I don’t have the energy to give to friendships to keep them topped up but that means that they aren’t as close as they’ve been in the past and I miss it

one of the reasons ao3 is a not-for-profit entity is BECAUSE it's derivative work based off of someone else's intellectual property! many legal issues come in when you try to monetize fanfiction without removing references to un-owned IP, and it's why having a protected space like ao3 is so valuable
