About $16 for two pounds of standard co-op hamburger. So, around $5.50 per homemade half-pound-of-meat cheeseburger, the way I make them.

I've been asking friends how much a fast-food burger (meal) costs. Around $15.00 USD, they say.

I thought burger'd be about $10/lb now, Feb2026. Lucky.

Love this headline. www.theregister.com/2026/02/13/a...
"The figures offer insight into the mentality of investors in AI platforms. Anthropic, like its rival OpenAI, has yet to turn a profit, although there are hopes that it will do so any moment now."

Please don't quote anything from newsbreak dot com.

It's a Chinese-born "news aggregator" that has been successfully sued by at least two real news agencies for, er, "borrowing" data and using AI to repost info. It used an app, is now available via http(s). Articles 404 soon after being posted.

Hamburger may hit ten dollars per pound ($10/lb). Soon. How's that for affordability slash the economy slash tariffs/taxes?

If that doesn't hurt, an equally large increase in the price of alcohol would get your attention.

Economics. I don't know much about econ, but what I've read lately, this is bad for US citizens: www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Succinctly, if you're an investor, it might be good, but if you're not, you're buying things that cost more than you expect.

Watching Peyton Place, the 1964+ night-time TV show. First 60-odd episodes, about half the first season. Dorothy Malone, Ryan O'Neal, Mia Farrow, et al. Library DVDs.

Historical significance.

This may be interrupted by Godzilla Minus One or Stranger Things season 1, no historical significance.
