The Duel⚔️♟️
The image shows a scene with bright towers, Jinn that looks like a skeleton, the Queen and the angel from my previous illustration "Angel's Whisper" and chessboard floor with chess piece on it. The story is about the Jinn who can duplicate themselves to play mind games with the Queen. There are mirrors in the middle ground showing intrusive thoughts to hurt the Queen. One image shows the angel stabbing the Queen, second one shows the Jinn kissing the angel, another image shows the angel become a skeleton and the last image shows the Jinn try on Queen's crown. The Queen and the Jinn in their material form are facing each other. The Queen is holding a sword and the Jinn is riding a bright red horse. The floor looks like chessboard with red and blue chess pieces. The artwork has a frame stylized in a similar way as the towers in the background. The artwork is mostly dark with green, blue and red accents.

BELVEDERE issue -26: MACULATA.

Probably the most personal and obscure thing i've ever drawn, and the most beautiful; people told me they teared up and "didn't have energy for anything else". A comic about the South Isles.

Comic cover, divided in two sections: Upper: A picture of Cat Aviator about to throw a paper airplane. To its left, the original greek version of Konstantinos Kavafis' poem "Remember, Body" and below that, a couple of verses by my character Pappagallino: Birds I could see frozen in the air, Yellow-green and blue around the eyes, Grasshopper-green slender jewels, When they rested their wings… Lower: Title and the same information as in the post, along with a list of characters: Cat Aviator (Retired) Pappagallino God of Winds "Dog Lady on the stairs" The South Isles C541 "BELVEDERE" Aircraft (it's vintage!) And a picture of Parrot giving the thumbs up. Character intro page, featuring portraits the main cast (Cat, God of Winds and Parrot) along with a brief introduction of each. CAT AVIATOR (RETIRED) A Cat who is an Aviator who is Retired. The original pilot of the Belvedere, now in the capable hands of his good friend Heron, he spends his days writing and reading in the garden of his small seaside villa. He can talk to birds and his best friend is a seagull (animal) named Comandante. Comandante was on vacation in the north during the events of this here comic. GOD OF WINDS, or “PIRATE PRINCE”, or “DOLPHIN”, or “CAPITANO JOHN” A romantic old god of the South Isles, he takes the shape of a young man with blonde hair and dark eyes. When mingling with the normal folk, he wears an eyepatch and goes by the name “Capitano John”. Had a brief but passionate love affair with our Cat Aviator. Enjoys calling himself a pirate but doesn’t own a ship (he walks on water). PARROT, or “PARROT-MAN”, or “PARROTMAN”, or “PAPPAGALLINO” A store clerk from Salina and amateur poet, he wrote the four verses on the cover of BELVEDERE issue -26: MACULATA. Another one of Cat’s love affairs, this one having lasted 5 years and ended on very good terms. In the end, both of them were very “hard to be friends with” and acknowledged it without fuss. They occasionally meet and catch up.

art as a skill is a good thing. it isn't seen as that, and that's the problem. in any echo chamber you'll see over-generalised statements that are actually addressing a niche (artists who want to cultivate their skills). besides, art brings its point along with itself.

But, this September, something new has been introduced in junior-high girls’ soccer. Players in uniform can’t enter the field until their gender-affirmation forms are signed. The game has begun, but parents are scrambling to get the declaration filled out so their daughter can play. Article content Article content Article content “We have played teams where a player came running over almost at the end of the game to play because they had only just gotten their sheet signed,” a mother of a junior-high player told Postmedia. “The sheet” is part of a new provincial government edict, enacted Sept. 1, that requires all girls age 12 and up who play school sports in all-female leagues provide declarations that they are biological females. It’s part of the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act, which the UCP touts as promoting a level, safe playing field by ensuring girls play in “biological female-only” divisions. For minors, parents or guardians must sign off on the forms. “There is no comparable requirement for boys to confirm their gender,” said another parent. “Once again, the onus is placed on girls to be monitored and regulated, reinforcing the idea that female athletes are the ones who need to be verified.”
