Mostly writing reviews about things I've seen, usually in and around Edinburgh
@showstoppermusical.bsky.social is a bit of a must see. I made their first show this year, and it did not disappoint. It was fabulously titled '5,6,7 Quake', and it might be my favourite so far. Every night is different, so who knows what today will bring. It might even be your suggestion!

My next pick for @edfringe.bsky.social is Mary Queen of Rock, by the local female-led Pretty Knickers Productions. A riot of colour and sound, the (slightly historically inaccurate) depiction of Mary Queen of Scots is a total joy from start to finish. It's 90 minutes, but they went by quickly!

My first highlight of @edfringe.bsky.social is Lovett. A one-woman show about Mrs Lovett of Sweeny Todd fame. @lucyroslyn.bsky.social is magnificent in her portrayal of the famous pie-maker. She gives us a masterclass in not only embodying characters but also in captivating an audience. A must see.

Stacey Dooley was at the Assembly Rooms, for a night titled 'Stories from Remarkable Mothers'. I went along - I'm a mother, and I know many remarkable mothers. This has the potential to be a really life affirming evening hearing about motherhood. What we got was more a bit of an insular look at

Ghost Stories at the Festival Theatre. I was very much looking forward to this, having heard from friends how good it is. I was left feeling rather disappointed, in all honesty. That's not to say there wasn't good stuff - the set was impressive for a touring show, and everything built up to an

I know which one is Ant and which one is Dec - but I have no clue which one is Noel and which one is Liam. Is it just me?
