A lot of good things have happened this year
I painted illustrations for 4 different books, made two covers and finally, after so many long months, I have found job a part-time job in gamedev. I feel like this may be a start of something incredible, and I'm super excited

I placed colors and started sketching the dragon larva piece! I tried giving them tiny little hands, but it killed the vibe of the eldritch horror, so no hands :'>
But I'm super excited about shading the tentacles and the maws! I love myself some flesh texture

This is Mara, an elf I created for my D&D setting called Gaol. I wrote several elf species, and all are based on bugs. Mara here is a black swallowtail butterfly. I really wanted to design her in such a way, that she resembles a starry night

Ok, I'm done with the body rendering, now it's time for the wings (hidden on a separate layer). The butterfly reference (black swallowtail) has bright orange spots, but the orange here just doesn't sit well with me. I think for the character's sake staying monochromatic may be better :3
