Hot take alert, probably an admission of an ugly thing inside of me, but it’s relevant so: I’m of the opinion that unfettered forgiveness is mostly just self-harm with extra steps

I am pretty pleased with the season finale to Heated Rivalry. Won’t go into detail since it’s so new, but while I understand it’s not doing much for folks that don’t care for romance as a genre, I think it executed on the emotional intimacy and honesty so well, the keys of the genre for me.

I was Kevin’s age when Home Alone came out, so watching it now and being like ~Kevin’s dad is alright looking 👀~ is a little strange. Thanks the passage of linear time!

I keep a stash of sealed Lego kits to break out in case of stress. MIL had to go in to emergency the other night, and I have completed one kit each day since she’s been in hospital. We’re expecting her back home in the next hour or so, which is lucky because I am nearly out of Lego 🤣

As someone who spent literal years in a law firm trying to explain to anyone why you can’t “redact” things by just drawing a black box over them or that just doing “find and replace” is rarely ever going to find EVERY reference to a term in a doc… the news this week has been often gratifying.

Bari Weiss is the logical endpoint of corporate media. This is what happens when people who hate journalism are in charge of it. The only way journalism works is when it’s independent from the power it’s supposed to hold to account, which means ownership can’t have anything to do with those in power

Rewatching Buffy as an adult is always so wild, because the older I get the more wrong I feel like I was about Riley as a teen 🤣 (hated him, now I like him tremendously)

Treated myself to a few paperbacks as we’re going to have a few (planned) doctor visits upcoming, and for some reason I really need print books in that scenario. 🤩
