I’m a fiber artist/maker (knitting, weaving & crochet), wife/mom/grandmother, vegetarian, otrovert, Enneagram 2w3, HSP, wanna-be-gardener, plantmama, homebody, lover of art and science, truth-seeker, potential hermit.
If you ever wondered why handmade things are pricier, this is just part of the “why”. This is me preparing to do just a single row on a cotton dish towel I am weaving myself.

Knitters and crocheters, have you seen this? Over 700 people have knitted this just since this came out this month. Traditional resistance!

This is a much slower process than plain weave. But the effect is amazing and satisfying! Pinwheel pattern in 8/4 Lofty Cotton, 12 dent reed, rigid heddle loom. You see plain weave at the start for the folded hem edge.

This is the best way to celebrate a milestone birthday (60). With two days off from work and doing what you adore doing. These will be pinwheel dish towels. I have a load of 8/4 cotton to play with. 🧶🥰

I just can’t anymore. I despise my country’s President and his entire Cabinet and staff at the deepest core of my being. I truly hope someone can magically appear to right this ship that is sinking like a lead weight to the bottom of the abyss. America is now a cesspool thanks to the POTUS.

They turned out so much better than I even envisioned them! They still need ironing and sending off to my daughter for next Holiday Season. #rigidheddleweaving #weaving #rigidheddle

Let’s do this, 2026!

I struggled with my plaid design. It took me weeks to work out what I was trying to create. It was worth taking that time to plan this before executing. I love it!!! #rigidheddleweaving #weaving #rigidheddle

Warping in the New Year! 🥂🍾🧶 A little late for Christmas plaid, but it’s getting made and then tucked away until next Christmas. 🎄🎁

They are finished! SandnesGarn Double Slippers in Cherry Red Fritids Garn. Felted and currently drying in a warm sunny window in my laundry room. They fit beautifully! And you can see from my current Double Slippers that it was past time to replace them. 😂🤣🧶

My Double Slippers (SandnesGarn pattern). They are ready to be felted. They look like clown shoes right now because they are so huge. 🤣 I’ll felt them in my washing machine tomorrow with a bunch of bath towels.

Friday night. Staycation.

Let’s add sewing to the hobbies. I clearly don’t have enough to keep my hands busy. 🤣🪡🧵 Cotton/linen base, cotton top and lining. Leather straps. Box bottom. I impressed myself that I could do this. 🤪 Xmas gift!

This theory likely holds truth.🤣🧑🏻‍🎤👩🏻‍🎤
based on how often the naughty teens of major cities throw the rentable scooters directly into the river i've formed a theory that the many iron age swords and cauldrons found in lakes around europe that we've previously assumed were ceremonial and sacrificial in nature were in fact thrown by teens

Finally have a space to leave my sewing machine set up and it is resulting in a new project! 2/3rd finished knitting project bag. The straps won’t arrive until Monday, then I can finish this. Christmas gift! The pattern is by Erica Arndt. Her Easy Drawstring Squishy Bag #3. #sewing

One of my faves. Crispy green salad with pan seared halloumi. Mmmmm!

The Northern Lights. I never get to see this where I live in the US! This is amazing! Gorgeous red! You can just see it flow to green down nearer the horizon, but there are too many houses and lights to get a good pic. Amazing!

Trying a new technique for the warping bar and front apron. Vinyl mini blind slats! So far the tension is better. The scarf is a cotton linen blend (5/2) warp and merino linen blend fingering weight singles for weft. 15 dent heddle.

A successful Maker’s Market this evening! 🧶

Being the daughter of an auto mechanic, I have some comfort in doing some of my own auto maintenance tasks. Last weekend, I replaced the cabin air filters on both of our Teslas. Had to dismantle part of the dash and center console, and contort myself, but I did it!

A chunky knit hat for the Art Show and Makes Market. I might make one more, too. Reverse colors from this one. No pom.
