Playing "Small Spaces" think I missed my calling, anybody in need of an interior designer? Or game levels, same principles, elevations, line of sight, points of interest and color schemes

Why am I only trying this out now (because my brain is in evasive mode) but #sonicLab's #PolyNodes V2 is the ideal noise machine to listen too while programming

So the Social Pressure was completely contra productive at the moments my brain seems reacts to this kind of pressure like a deer in headlights, I have zero testable level

Told a couple from Berlin how I got to the middle of nowhere from the airport in Berlin, now sitting in a bus with handwritten station information to hopefully somewhere, where I can find a bus to near FEZ, wish me luck

If you're visiting Berlin for any of these events and are interested in synths I recommend checking out the new Synthesizer Museum in Kottbusser Tor, went there earlier this week and had a blast. Also I really want a Korg MS 10 or 20 now 😅

Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more

If I know any #colorblind people on here, could you tell me if these assistance filters are making the game visuals more readable for you? (2nd attempt with better filters)

In response to the Polygon and Giant Bomb news, I created an indie and worker-owned games media starter pack.

I’ll keep adding to it, so suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Please share!

I'll be at Amaze in Berlin on May 14 and 15 with a first prototype of "brain before dawn" a casual bullet hell game, my sound artist self @dkah.bsky.social will be at Superbooth on May 9 and 10

What an impressive opening party at @swissgamehub.bsky.social ! Congrats and thank you to the organizational team and all the people who‘ve tirelessly worked behind the scenes to make such an event and huge crowd a reality!

My mood board is up, post cards I collected in the last decades, yes analog because sometimes I need to look up from my computer screen #swissgamehub #swissgames

The positive thing about working at a game dev coworking spaces like the #swissgamehub are surprise events, where you can meet old friends and make new ones without having to do anything

Actually I could just use polygon nodes for my avatar animations, it would probably make them much more malleable and since the avatar will be relatively small and simple (think Sword and Sworcery) that could actually work #godotengine #gamedev #cheatingonanimations
April 11, 2025 at 2:26 PM
Todays think session was like I need this problem solved, and my librarian brain was like #godotengine has polygon2d nodes, so now the mathematics part of my brain is having a party thinking about what we could solve with polygons instead of sprites
April 11, 2025 at 9:37 AM
One of the valuable tips for #godotengine was when @theonyan.bsky.social told me that there are signals

Just to reiterate following step-by-step tutorials will not help you make games, just copying code will not help you in the long run, don’t ask how, ask why and use your friendly LLM not to tell you how to, but ask if you understood concepts right or to give you alternatives
April 4, 2025 at 6:45 AM
So today, next to mentoring a student, decorating my workspace, I managed to have a polygon change form and flying around in Godot, yes its not much but I am still getting to know my way around Godot and just following a tutorial mostly doesn’t help understanding, so I am poking around

On my way to claim my now fix desk at #swissgamehub, committing to actually doing this, at least I have the luxury to enjoy myself and not care if anyone wants this game, I will still try my best to make it a really good and fun playing experience
April 2, 2025 at 11:19 AM
So have to write prototypes to test my assumptions, will also be a good exercise to learn about #godotengine and writing experimental prototypes is always a good idea
April 2, 2025 at 11:14 AM
Still on my discovery journey of #godotengine, but there are also some game design decisions to be made, for instance do I want to spawn bullets or just place things in the level so that the player can see how much is left and have them fail, if the level runs out of things to hurl at them
April 2, 2025 at 11:11 AM
Shader should be much higher on my list on ways how to solve things, especially vertex shader will probably make things much easier than anticipated, I just need to get into the right mind set
