“AI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to it” wrong. I don’t have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to

While I was in the hospital my turtle Fritzie died. I had her since my first year of college (2001). As the numbness from my birth trauma wears off I have more feels about this.
She was a good turtle, and my favorite. 🐢

Sometimes it is the little things: like a partner who will go to CVS and physically stand there in front of them so your script for pain meds are filled faster. (From 2 hr estimated wait to 10 mins)
(I say little but it feels big)

Oh yes, I made a people.
Kirin, 5.5 lbs on 11/5. Doing well in the NICU.
I also spent 7 hrs in surgery, impressed the head MFM dr with the most severe placenta precreta he had ever seen, and lost 3.7 liters of blood.
I am exhausted, but bebe is amazing and I get to be a learning aide so that's cool.

One of my favorite TV fight moves is opening with the headbutt.
Gotta learn how to do that properly.

Such a tiny baby. Such a good cat. (3 years goes by so fast)

Setting up the pack-and-play for new babe, leads to showing G pics of her in it, leads to pics of baby her in it with Susan (late cat, died at ~17), leads to me crying.
She was such a great first cat for a baby. I feel guilty that I could not help her more, and miss her so hard right now.

One of my favorite things about this time of year: wild animals interacting with pumpkins.
Big cats are my fav, but this bear is pretty good.

As a person who calls my mom's cousin my Aunt, and for whom a bunch of my mom's friends (who were around a bunch when I was a kid) are Aunties to me and my kid, the idea people think they caught Zohran in a lie is kinda wild.

I saw an advertisement for emergen-c, about how to protect yourself in flu season.

Like... we all experienced the same 2020 right? We know how to protect ourselves from diseases. You can spend much less on masks than on orange flavoured water and measurably reduce disease spread.

I am delivering a baby via c-section in 2 weeks and last night finally got my fiance to realize we would need to find someone to watch the toddler if he wanted to be there for the birth of his child.
Before now he found the attempts to plan childcare for this silly.

Did yoga for the first time in a long time. I had forgotten the unique challenges of yoga while caring for a toddler. Mindfulness challenge rating: advanced.

According to estimates, my little town (with a republican state rep) had 2% of our population at No Kings on Saturday. People driving by cheered, honked, and said thank you. And I am sure some locals went to larger neighboring towns' gatherings.
Makes me hopeful.

Pics from today's No Kings protest in my small town. Was a lovely day for it. People driving by were mostly supportive, big 'insult' thrown at us was being called communist. (Close enough label I guess, def not the insult they think it is when compared to fascist)

After layoffs, it's unclear how many people are policing civil rights violations inside the Department of Homeland Security, even as the Trump administration ramps up ICE detention.
Civil rights jobs have been cut. Those ex-workers warn of ICE detention violations

Today at my Dr's appt the clock on the wall was incorrect, so I fixed it. It was only off by an hour or so, so I imagine people just forgot around daylight savings and no one has noticed/cared enough to do anything.
This is all very neurotypical of me.

"Some of the best people in America are people who are willing to confront our mistakes."

This video is a good takedown of the Repubs. But this particular quote sends a strong message to those on the left with "never did anything I disagree with" litmus tests for joining the battle against fascism.
