This is no minor court ruling.

It reflects the beginning of a growing global consensus among judges that governments have legal responsibilities to address #climatechange. And sometimes, int'l opinions inform judges arbitrating contentious areas of law here at home.

This is a big deal! Good for @sophiamathur.bsky.social & other youth for taking Ontario to court arguing that weakening its climate target leads to dangerously high greenhouse gas emissions that discriminate against young people by forcing them to bear the brunt of future climate impacts.

Such an amazing article. I'm beyond grateful for my community. Over two dozen people braved the cold on the Friday before March Break here in Ontario.
Dr. Elaine Blacklock and MPP Gelinas gave powerful speeches, and Salma spoke so well for the youth.
