“Germany serves to block EU sanctions against Israel’s persistent violations of international and humanitarian law.
Europe is left to sit and watch the brutal destruction of Gaza and its people, bewildered at its own inaction.”

Opinion: We were shocked but not surprised by the assault on my sister Kitty O’Brien
This wasn’t the first time my sister had been violently assaulted by German police at a pro-Palestine protest

Can this company just DIE?

This is Mauser, a German arms company that provided weapons to Wehrmacht, the armed forces of Nazi Germany

It was "defunct" in 2004 but actually rebranded to Rheinmetall AG, who today directly fund Gaza genocide

They’re responsible for so much death it’s insane!

A thread on the Irish triple lock. What is it/where did it come from/can it be repealed constitutionally?
The ‘Triple Lock’ is to be found in the Defence Acts and requires that an operation must be (a) mandated by the United Nations, (b) approved by the Government, and (c) approved by resolution of Dáil Éireann, if more than 12 members of the Defence Forces are sent overseas for peacekeeping operations.

My suggestions include making the provisions of Article 29.1-3 justiciable and provide a limited form of judicial review over such deployment decisions.

That would protect members of the Defence Forces, our political leaders and the people of Ireland from the risks inherent in this field.

There can at times be a tension between the powers of government and the power of the people as described in Bunreacht na hÉireann.

Especially in the area of international relations and that in turn links on to authorising deployment of Irish soldiers overseas.
