Introduction Post:
HI! I'm Jess
•HoH (hearing aid user)
•chronically ill and immunocompromised
•love reading romance, fantasy, manga and nonfiction with a preference to sapphic stories
•newly into k-dramas and anime
•love animals
•always researching new things in environmental and social movements
They tell you when you get hearing aids you will adapt and it gets less overwhelming. It hasn’t for me after almost 2 years. It’s weird to be grateful for something while also never look forward to popping them in.

OCD is not quirky or cute. Just a reminder. I was already running late to work and then I get stuck in a loop of locking my car. Like bitchhhhh we don’t have TIME for this!!!

I am ALWAYS cautious with authors who only write about sapphic couples when it involves a tragic/sad ending.

My niece is reading Legendborn for the first time and the text thread is MASSIVE right now 😂

I write out a lot of posts, then reread 3 or 4 times just to hit “discard post” and take it to the notes app instead. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My niece picked Legendborn for her book at the store today! So excited for her

Me and the niece are going thrifting today and I think the shirt I ordered for pride is going to come in just in time for tonight 🙌🏻🙌🏻 may the mail gods be on my side

What is your FAVORITE sapphic book you’ve read to date? 📚🌈

I’ll go first. Of all time, Outdrawn by Deanna Grey still takes the trophy. #sapphicbooks

GOODBYE NELNET! That last student loan payment has been submitted! 😭😭😭😭 heavy sobbing
June 5, 2025 at 4:17 PM
I’m making my last student loan payment tomorrow and I’m already crying about it. 🖕🏻 them for exploiting us then and continuing to target HS children now with predatory loan practices.

My niece texted me super excited because she’s watching Rupaul’s drag race starting at season 9. She said it’s pride month so she needed to do it. I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in a while. She really said “for the gay in my life🏳️‍🌈 ALLY”

Yall, please respect your library books. Don’t dog ear pages, toss them around, bend the spines harshly. Accidents happen but try your best to be gentle and leave the copy in good condition. Library funds are scarce. There isn’t always money to fix or buy another copy.

Millennial Authors 🤝🏻 magical chosen ones with white hair or mysterious streaks of silver

Also garden progress! 🌱🪴🫛Tomatoes are doing great, beans are growing well. Marigolds bloomed! My luffa plant is dealing with a flying ant problem but I’m doing my best to keep the plant going.

Library Haul from today. I loved Rachel Gillig’s Shepherd King duology so the new release was a given to grab. The midnight feast is the book club’s pick this month. 📚❤️

Sinners Movie DVD is coming soon and I’m at the ready to purchase it. Already planning a watch party at my place for my friends that couldn’t afford to see it in theatres. I’m so excited

So many video essays on the death of hobbies but rarely any of these acknowledge how many MORE hours people are having to spend at a job to pay essential bills. 16 hrs a day doing work to come home exhausted. When did having hobbies become a moral high ground? People are TIRED and want to rest.

Some people mean “chill in a setting with not much going on plot wise but the vibes are cool” when they say Cozy Fantasy and others mean “low stakes plot line with fantasy setting that doesn’t include combat scenes” when they say cozy fantasy. These are two very different recs.

Libraries need our support, always. That’s the goal. Promoting what YOUR library has access to for your community is different. That’s spreading awareness but berating people online for not using a resource they don’t have access to is losing the plot. You’re focused on the wrong thing
