The new @figma.com apps are cool, but can I just get percentage based widths and heights for auto-layout?

Also, why doesn’t the Grid layout support min and max widths?

Every time I see “Ack” as a slack message reaction, I translated it to “Ack! This is fucked!”.

I just deciphered that it’s suppose to be “acknowledged”.

I like my original translation better 😂

Attended Config this year. It was well run, and the Figma announcements were interesting. The rest of the talks felt a little chaotic, but the Severance Production Designer talk was interesting and fun— tapping into my film school days. #config2025

I built Montessori bookshelves to foster and support my son’s love of books.

(A side benefit is that we can better track all the library books!)

Dear website and software people, stop disabling form buttons.

Showing a validation error message is 99% better than trying to figure out how to enable the button.

Thanks!

“Computer literacy is really a euphemism for forcing human beings to stretch their thinking to understand the inner workings of application logic, rather than having software-enabled products stretch to meet people’s usual ways of thinking.” - Alan Cooper
You are not "too old," you don't "just not get it." Things have stopped being made intuitively by default. You are the victim, you are being gaslit into believing you are deficient when using software made by companies that have failed you.

Reminds me of days biking through NYC's Chinatown on my way to work. An adrenaline rush is a great way to start the day 😵🤘
I made a tiny protest game about the terrifying reality of biking in Toronto without bike lanes

The image on the cover of the Joy Division album "Unknown Pleasures" is from a plot that radio astronomer Harold Craft made for his PhD dissertation, using data collected at Arecibo while studying the pulsar discovered by Jocelyn Bell Burnell. (13/12)
