Did a fun collab with an artist a while ago, I designed and produced some 3d printed wheels in 1:24 scale, added a sprue just like the real injection-cast wheel sets we wanted to replicate too. Full circle😅

For a Corvair model build-off a while ago I designed some parts for the engine of mine. Everything except the block and gearbox is 3d printed or detail wire/photoetch.

There's a scale model product that is iron paint and an oxidizing agent used to add real rust to your builds.
It smells funky but the results are very convincing IMO!
The oxidizing agent can be diluted with water for more subtle effects and to add variance too.

The chrome pen on the top of the spokes looks all shitty like the chearcoat is peeling off the exposed brushed metal like on the 1:1 wheels sometimes... happy accident😅
