Republicans Undercut Johnson, Circumventing Him to Force Votes

Reading between the lines. I think that the splinter was more a sacrificial lamb. Senate republicans weren’t going to come to the table without the cheese puff’s blessing. Democrats needed to end it. So they sent in their least vulnerable to take the hit. The rest, IMO, is political theater.

You know what’s really chapping my hide?? The complete lack of accountability from either party - or frankly from the people who support them. I shouldn’t talk. I took myself out of the mix. I couldn’t deal anymore with the capriciousness of elections. And that was local elections.

I just watched *Famous Last Words Dr. Jane Goodall* on Netflix. Her parting words were of hope. If we all do our part, do the best that we can, and never give up. If just a small part of each of us can be like her, we can change the world.

I’m so proud to support my good friend Lynette in her bid for senate district 46’s state senate seat. I ran her campaign for St. Louis Park City Council, where she represented me in Ward 2 before I moved to Saint Paul..

They claim God and that they speak for a higher power. I grew up in the Christian church, but regularly encountered hypocrisy. So, I’d like to share bible verses that speak directly against the hate that they sow. 1 John 2:9-11.

We’re not even a year in. Every day is a new violation of the constitution and simple mores. This is what the framers feared. And somehow the checks and balances keep failing. Just like an infant, the more he gets, the more he wants. Even the 4th estate is useless when freedom of speech is gutted. 😔

I’m so incredibly grateful to hear that they’ve apprehended the man who shot and killed, in cold blood, Melissa and Mark Hortman. Now he faces the consequences of ending lives, without cause, without reason. Only divisiveness and rancor. This is not who we are. We can, and must, do better.

As we hang on this morning waiting for news about the shooting of Rep. Melissa Hortman and Sen. John Hoffman, both DFLers, I’m simply shook to the core.

There are a bunch of lunatic men somehow succeeding at destroying the world. How did we get here?

This. All of this.
I want politics to be about a better everyday life.

Here's what that can look like:

This is my dad. He’s 92 today. I love him more than I can say, and I’m so lucky to still have him here. I’m spending the weekend with my parents and celebrated my dad with a nice dinner tonight. Send him lots of love on his special day!!

This is what the actions of this administration looks like. Real people with real jobs, who are doing good. There is no reason to treat people like chattel. Doing what is needed to make government better doesn’t mean taking a chainsaw to public servant’s lives. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/30/u...
