This doctor does, in fact, love SCRUBS.
an interesting subtopic! which shows/movies are beloved by the profession for Getting It Right! Lawyers famously love MY COUSIN VINNIE, doctors I believe love SCRUBS, apparently Aussie barristers are surprisingly fond of RAKE's depiction of some aspects of the law.
Oh god I remember watching HOUSE with some doctors, it was a the usual mix of “you would get fired instantly and never practice medicine again no matter how good u are” and “that case actually isn’t hard to solve at all”

Up at the crack of dawn today in Chicago to see the incredible sunrise off the lake. Joined unexpectedly by a large crowd of young people doing the same. Did not have to run back inside afterward to escape the crime.

Backyard fountain has been a big hit with the bees this summer. Lined up like it's a drive-in burger and shake joint.

Good thread on thimerosal and vaccines, which really isn’t “a thing” and has been extensively evaluated. Nevertheless, sigh, on the “ACIP” agenda next meeting.

It’s almost like none of this was ever remotely about protecting Jews
SCOOP: The Antisemitism Awareness Act — up for vote in Senate committee tomorrow — now has a religious liberty clause to protect ‘Jews killed Jesus’ statements by Christian conservatives.

New added language in the bill clarifies First Amendment protections.

Why the Antisemitism Awareness Act now has a religious liberty clause to protect ‘Jews killed Jesus’ statements
The Antisemitism Awareness Act's added language says it would not infringe on religious liberty to protect the claim that Jews killed Jesus.

My quote of the day

The more skill it takes to accomplish a task, the more difficult it is to comprehend the knowledge needed to deal with it, the more likely it is that someone incompetent will perform it.

Being in another city for a conference is so much more enjoyable when there is a comic convention happening at the same time. It’s so awesome seeing crowds of people—friends, families, individuals—all in happy, full self expression, and all completely nerding out. I love it.

This is...not good.
Breaking: FDA's March meeting to select flu shot strains for 2025-2026 season has been canceled per email sent to committee members, a VRBPAC member told me. drug companies need about 6 months leeway to make shots in time for fall vax campaigns. #healthpolicy
