Greetings to the naturist community here. And to everyone considering that option.

Terry Pratchett: It's vital to remember who you really are. It's very important. It isn't a good idea to rely on other people or things to do it for you, you see. They always get it wrong.

Backstory: The son of my wife's best friend can never manage to open envelopes without destroying the contents, so she made him a YouTube video about how to do it, then got friends to add to it.

She asked me to do a Wicca-oriented one, particularly requesting some not too blatant nudity. Sorted!

Rainer Maria Rilke: Bound by conventions, people tend to reach for what is easy. Here we must be unafraid of what is difficult. For all living beings in nature must unfold in their particular way and become themselves, despite all opposition.

Anonymous: Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologise for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind.

Shirley Mason: The body is not obscene; the laws that criminalise it are. Allowing nudity everywhere, where it’s non-sexual, would break down barriers of judgement and let people live without hiding who they are.

Tessa Hughes: The WNBR is wholesome fun that makes you feel alive - cycling naked with a crowd, music blasting, and everyone cheering for the environment and freedom. It’s a playful, public way to show that nudity and activism can be a joyful combo.

Ella Kopelman (on WNBR events): For the first time, I felt like a normal human being with a body like everyone else’s. Being naked somehow felt like a superpower.

Patti Smith:

I believe everything we dream
Can come to pass through our union,
We can turn the world around,
We can turn the earth's revolution.
We have the power,
People have the power.

Francesca Lynn: Standing bare in a crowd, as I did at my first festival, taught me that vulnerability is strength. The law may call it indecent but the spirit calls it freedom.

Sylvia Vaught: People ask if I’m scared to be naked in public. I tell them I was scared the first time. The second time, I was free. The third time, I forgot clothes were even an option.

You, through no fault of your own, are illegal.

To test this, go for a walk, without a sanctioned disguise, to a local shop, pub or police station.

Even if you're among the few living somewhere you're not illegal, most people you meet will think you are.

This is an extremely silly way to live.
