Took them a second to sync up their timing but Stafford to Adams is basically automatic at the goal line now. Can’t let this team get inside the 10 if you want a chance.

Reposting my predraft article on JJ McCarthy since I’ve referenced it a few times lately. A lot of the mechanical concerns that I laid out here are still apparent when watching him.

J.J. McCarthy's upside is tantalizing. The question is how high it actually goes
McCarthy weighed 17 pounds heavier at the combine than he did at Michigan, which could be significant. Here's what the tape tells Nate Tice about arguably the draft's most polarizing prospect.

@btxj.bsky.social down to six teams left Guillotine League. I've got $431 left and Bijan, J. Chase, and Javonte Williams headline the waivers. $216 too aggressive on Bijan? Lower that bid and hedge Javonte?

No QB in the NFL has had passes batted or tipped more frequently than J.J. McCarthy this season. I took a look at his high rate of "blocked shots," as Kevin O’Connell has called them, and what's leading to it: www.startribune.com/minnesota-vi...
Analysis: Batted passes and drops point to problems with J.J. McCarthy’s mechanics
In terms of frequency, there’s no quarterback who’s had his passes deflected more than the Vikings’ first-year starter.

Gigantic smooth dude who caught everything in college is gigantic smooth dude who catches everything in the NFL
T-Mac was battered during the pre-draft process, only to eventually go in the Top 10, anyway. Then, we learned that other teams were trying to trade up for him in the Top 10, as well. And now, one of the NFL's best rookies.

Gotta be a lesson in there, somewhere.

On the Addison throw, it's POSSIBLE that McCarthy expected the WR to peel out to the sideline rather than go to the flag. So it COULD have been miscommunication. The Jets throw was just bad. Gotta be better.

Irony: Woody Johnson doesn't want to be publicly criticized by players. Last month, he publicly criticized his quarterback.
The rich and powerful don't like to be criticized. And so the NFL is trying to strong-arm the NFLPA into ending its annual team-by-team report cards.
