Ohio lawmakers are so dumb it hurts. Due to HB250, my son is no longer allowed to wear his Garmin watch at school or use his phone, but every kid has a Chromebook that allows them to do pretty much everything you can do with a phone in the first place.

Listening to my local @npr.org affiliate interview someone from the convenience store industry and gleefully talk about how gasoline is still going to be the predominant fuel in 10 years without acknowledging how absolutely fucked we're going to be due to climate change is infuriating.

Hearing #NPR saying that DOGE is "trying to trim down the federal government" when their goal seems obviously to be eliminating governmental checks on Elon Musk's illegal business dealings makes me die a little inside.

I think a thing that a lot of people miss about greenhouse gasses - the excess amount of greenhouse gasses mainly determine the RATE of future warming - not the total amount. So even if we stop emitting 100% excess GHG before we hit 1.5C warming - we're still going to keep warming for 100s of years.

IMO you shouldn't be able to pass a law requiring possession of some thing in order to vote, unless you also provide a mechanism to insure that EVERY citizen of the United States has that thing and it is free. Otherwise, it's just an elaborate poll tax.

6 TRILLION dollars paid for by American consumers. The US population is 340 million - subtract the 20 million undocumented immigrants Trump wants to deport and that leaves us with 320 million people to pay $600 BILLION a year... that works out to $1,875 PER YEAR for every man, woman and child.
White House promises that next week, it will impose the largest peacetime tax increase in America history outside of World War II - $6 trillion over the decade.
