Something bothers me about the deportation of people to the prison in El Salvador. without due process. Deportation is to transport a person out of the US to their country of origin, NOT to a foreign prison without due process. All of the deportees should be returned along with Garcia to face trial.

Why is it that the NY Times (online version) has zero articles or op-eds about yesterday's Hands Off protests? None.

It occurred to me yesterday as the market drop settled that the deliberate crash of the economy and the stock market is to create a situation where the very wealthy can buy stock and commodities at bargain prices.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

My nagging question: what is wrong with the DNC? Weeks after naming a new Chair, all I hear are crickets. What I do get is bombarded with text and email solicitations for money. Are they active on MAGA platforms and forums that I don't follow?

Hearing about the many lawsuits brought against Trump and Musk actions since taking over on Jan 20 is great, but who is going to make them comply? Even if a judge is ready to order them, or a cabinet head to jail for contempt of court, who will make the arrest?

Robert Reich reminded me today that if Elon Musk spent $1 million a day of his $400 billion, it would take him more than 1000 years to spend it all. Think of all the good things he could do for humans here and abroad with his wealth. But he won't. He wants more for himself.

I just canceled my Washington Post Subscription. Jennifer Rubin's resignation was the last straw.

It's a little thing, I know, but I like Bluesky's behavior that requires you to click the home button or the Up button to navigate to the top of your feed. I dislike how FaceBook jumps to the top of the feed if you leave the page even if you want to continue where you left off.
