NMNT is a community of people who want to have a more liveable city and a good sleep. Opinions here are my own, but should be somewhat connected to reducing noise for the benefit of people and our planet. Noise is a public health, equity and climate issue.
What matters gets funding. The City of Toronto’s Noise Bylaw Team needs more staff and better technology to improve enforcement and better outcomes for residents.

Victoria is updating its 2003 noise bylaw & wants your feedback! Two online surveys (for residents & businesses) are open until Jan. 31, 2026. Noise rules should include sound level targets so noise goes down, not up.

Fireworks are tradition, but bigger & louder displays mean more damage, injuries, and noise impacts. Germany and others are rethinking them. What should replace fireworks?👇

Some folks love fireworks 🎆—others fear them. Loud bangs cause anxiety, harm animals, and damage the environment. For a deeper look, read more here. It’s time to ban fireworks.

Maps are a powerful way to share information, and new cartography tools are creating amazing spatial awareness of data. 🗺️📊 That’s why our “Not 311” Noise Report worked so well.

Take time this holiday to see how maps are dynamic, changing, and informing. ✨

For some, less vehicle vanity noise is all they want for Christmas 🎄🔊 Education is prooving effective elsewhere—but is awareness enough for North America? Doubt it.

We’re working to bring automated noise enforcement to Canada for better sleep. 😴

Looking forward to a few mornings of sleeping in? 😴 When we wake rested, we feel better, our immune systems are stronger, and emotions more balanced. No surprise that insufficient sleep predicts shorter life expectancy. 🌙✨

Noise pollution is real—many of us never get a break from it. At No More Noise, we’re taking back control, bit by bit. If noise disrupts your sleep or daily life, consider an end-of-year donation. When the noise stops, the benefits are instant.

During the pandemic, quieter oceans benefited marine life too. As many species rely on sound more than sight, this research highlights the need to rethink global shipping and reduce harmful marine noise. 🌊🐋🔊

China is getting quieter: EVs, 32M sq metres of noise-reducing roads, 833,000m of sound barriers & no-honking zones. Meanwhile Toronto still struggles with loud pavement, honking & nonstop construction. Time for change! 🔇
