It never ceases to amaze me how obsessed political hardliners remain with “ideology” - in providing answers. Growing up, prevailing right-wing Govt wisdom was that privatisation was, by definition, better. And good.

But I’m a Thames Water customer.

Read by me on the Lib Dems' quiet confidence about this week's local elections. Includes Ed Davey's observation that Reform UK doorknockers seem to give up quite quickly because they receive such a hostile reaction from some homes.

The government is putting the big banks and gambling companies ahead of disabled people and carers. It is not just cruel, it is a false economy.

Ministers must think again.

House of Commons Library research, commissioned by SNP MP Stephen Gethins, has confirmed the annual total, which the SNP has branded "obscene" and "eye watering"

This must be the final nail in the coffin for Ofwat, a regulator that's proven time and again it cannot protect customers and our beautiful environment.

The Government must protect British rivers and seas from disgusting sewage. It’s time for Ofwat to go.

Could someone (anyone) - especially if they’re ex-Tory Govt or current Labour Govt explain to me how we’ve allowed the (massively influential) BBC World Service to erode through cuts over the years? Surely it should be a priority for investment in brand UK?? #bbc #politics #media

In August 2008 (!) I launched my own business. “Interesting” economic climate in which to become an entrepreneur. Small businesses are consistently neglected by Govt, in my view. At best, taken for granted. Action needed. Small businesses of the UK unite! #sme #smallbusiness #entrepreneurship

Last night at a business network event in central London, Ed Davey made the point that for its distinctly pro-European stance alone, the Lib Dem’s constitute the natural political home for business.

The UK must talk tough and not cower in the corner hoping that Donald Trump isn't mean to us. That starts by preparing for retaliatory tariffs and, in trade talks especially on services having other options on the table to show we're prepared to walk away.

More than 80% of local residents oppose this measure - yet Lambeth Council is imposing it anyway. Why 6hrs, not 2hrs - as it is in surrounding areas? And as for the impact on staff recruitment and retention at local schools…
