The Big Issue faces severe reader backlash.

Analysis shows profound betrayal, with accusations of being intellectually lazy, politically misaligned and suffering major #MissionDrift and a #PRFail

I just wrote a quick post on FB to say that I would be moving my professional posts purely to BlueSky/Linkedin—and my post vanished.

Surprised? Not so much!

But it strongly reinforces my distaste for Meta, X and Tik-Tok.

I cannot understate this: US, oligarch-owned social media needs to die.

What happens when you elect a far-Right Government determined to blame immigrants for every single policy failure?

I thought this was a parody it's so bad, but no, this is straight from the Department of Homeland Security.

I'm surprised they haven't tried to use Homelander from The Boyz yet!

🚨 THREAD: A disturbing nexus of US tech, surveillance, and geopolitics is taking shape, with direct implications for the UK. Here's how the same companies that aided the war in Gaza are now positioned to profit from the "peace"—and what it means for our data. 🚨

I grew up with shit on our beaches. I remember the EUs action on getting members to sort this out.

I'm gobsmacked that leaving the EU returned us right back to where we were 40 years ago.

Who will you vote for at the next election to get sewage out of rivers and seas? 💧💩

How will they do this if Thames Water is allowed to pollute ILLEGALLY until 2040 ⁉️

We're handing this petition to Ofwat on Tuesday 21st October, add your name 👇

Have long loved Benjamin Zephaniah and I've reading his poems to my daughter for quite some time.

To hear his words from the mouth of a UK politician gives me real hope.

Join the Greens.

Today.

Go...get a move on.

Yes, you!

Please and thank you.

Fake AI-generated extremist content is spreading on major platforms. Bluesky's guidelines strictly prohibit this, but bigger platforms are failing.

If, like me, you're seriously concerned about the xenophobic fascist-leaning Reform getting anywhere near power, please—please, tell everyone you know to join the Greens today.

They can beat Reform. We can have a much better future—but it needs enough of us to act.

Don't be silent. Speak up. Go 💚

Social media isn't just a platform; it's a war zone. Bots, AI, & state actors are weaponising it to undermine democracy. The evidence is there from Meta to Musk. We must see the battlefield & break our dependency on toxic platforms.

A great breakdown of why "growth at all costs" is an insane idea.

Successive Governments have focused on growth alone because it catches headlines.

But GDP is an awful indicator as to the health of your economy.

Wealth distribution and the needs of the average person are ignored — for a metric.
With Labour's approval of a second runway at Gatwick airport - and Reeves and Starmer pursuing growth at all costs - we NEED @graceblakeley.substack.com in our lives to explain why certain types of growth don't benefit most of us

The UK-US Data Bridge is a critical risk. It allows data transfer to US firms based on flawed self-certification, exposing UK customer data. With proof from massive US gov leaks, compliance ≠ security. Time to review your data flows.

I always hated Monopoly but could never articulate why as a kid.

Now I understand the game is a lesson in the results of unchecked wealth accumulation.

This video from @zackpolanski.bsky.social brilliantly demystifies it.

We are living Monopoly — the only way out is to change the rules!

Yet more good news on the Reform front—another wheel falls off, this time, the (notably unelected) Chairman!

Also...

Burqas? No issue. But berks? Especially the xenophobic fascist ones? Ban the bloody lot of them!

In other news #BackZach
🚨 Reform UK is in crisis. Again.

Just hours after a row over a proposed burqa ban, party chairman Zia Yusuf has quit. He says it’s no longer worth trying to get Reform elected.

If Farage’s own chairman has lost faith, why should voters back them?
June 5, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Reform voters should pay closer attention to how it's MPs vote and not the utter horse cr@p that comes out of their mouths.

The UK isn't far off the mess unfolding in the US with the public purse being stripped bare by politicians with vested interests.

#VoteGreen
Nigel Farage wants attention for *saying* he’d scrap the 2-child benefit cap. But in the vote against it, did he show up?

No. Zero Reform MPs voted against the cap in July.

Green MPs put it in our costed manifesto, signed the motion, and voted to scrap it. Actions not words.
