Great discussion with @znconsulting.com 's @pweiss.bsky.social: why comms should care about analytics & data and the strategic role communicators have to play in AI governance & ethics. 🧠🤖
🧠 “AI won’t take your job. But someone using AI more strategically might.”

I am reading for the 2nd time Simon Parkin's mesmerising book about the fate of a seed bank during the 872 day siege of Leningrad, longest in history. Incredible story about scientists giving their lives to preserve unique seeds and feed future humanity.

And now... the EU needs the UK and our military. I know the noble thing to do would be to give it to them but we also need to get something out of it, roll back on Brexit. I know from taking to people in Brussels how much they miss our military. Now is the time to negotiate.

Just visited this Tate Modern installation Cabaret Crusades by Egyptian artist Wael Shawky. Impressive use of 200-year-old marionettes to depict the crusades through Arab eyes as per Amin Maalouf's book. Intriguing how marionettes help us revisit written history

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I really miss Charlie Wilson who wanted to be on the board of the Kennedy Center so that he could bring a date. Much more honest.

Watching daily impromptu White House press conferences, also yesterday's gem with Musk's son picking his nose (poor kid). The journalist in me is cringing. No preparation, an unending stream of consciousness. Wondering about impact... Can we expect this kind of comms from our future young recruits?

This is so surprising...Hopefully these numbers won't be used as an argument for something stupid... A friend and I were debating wether the US is going to invade Canada. It it does, would the British army help defend it. All very outlandish-sounding stuff... let's hope it stays that way.

Reading this book by @adamdorr.bsky.social about disabled young woman whose brain gets linked to huge computing resources and starts behaving more like a machine than a human. Don't read it for the cheesy title or writing style but it's great at making us think about AGI and machine awareness.
