I think the take away on this is that this isn't a competition. & that numbers shouldn't be a driving force. The amount of likes someone gets on a piece does not determine how much value it carries. If you love your work than you already made it small or big. Comparing ourselves is harmful.

10 years ago a little game called Ori and the Blind Forest inspired me to invest time and energy into the art of illustrating and storytelling. I still am learning and there will always be room for improvement but a lot has happened in 10 years.

Flu deaths exceeded COVID deaths last winter and we may be on track for the same thing this year!
I can speak anecdotally that at the hospital I work at we’ve had very low covid census. We test anyone experiencing respiratory symptoms, and we’ve had very few people with Covid who have needed to be hospitalized. Which is a relief because we are absolutely inundated with flu rn
