Sunshine picks out a carpet of snowdrops in the churchyard at Acton Scott. The Long Mynd is stretching across the horizon beyond the yew trees, with Ragleth on the right. I saw a horse in the field opposite and, after half an hour, he finally moved into view and I got my shot. #Shropshire

Hello Much Wenlock! This image of the town's street names and places has just been added to our extensive range of #Shropshire greetings cards, along with new designs of Shrewsbury, Stokesay Castle and Ludlow. Our cards are available in local shops and via our website: bit.ly/4qjTnb0

The rooftops of Little Wenlock peek above the morning mist in this ethereal view from the summit of the Wrekin. It’s the hope of coming across scenes like this that means I carry all my lenses with me whenever I go out, because I never want to miss a photo opportunity.

What I love about mist is that it has the ability to turn an ordinary view into something extraordinary - and create a magical sight that takes your breath away.

Here’s a splash of colour to brighten up a dull day - a rainbow in the sky above Ludlow Castle. I took this picture last November but have only just got around to editing all my files. No prizes for guessing where I was standing! #Shropshire

What an amazing sight - thousands of starlings swooping and diving in unison above the nature reserve at Whixall Moss. The birds made an incredible whooshing sound as they wheeled through the sky at sunset before settling down to roost for the night.

This was one of the biggest murmurations I have ever seen, estimated at 300,000, and my video shows only a few of the birds that performed this spectacular aerial dance.

Listening to the weather forecast is part of the job for landscape photographers. Things don’t always go to plan, however, and the promise of early morning mist can come to nothing. It has happened to me many times, but this was one of those mornings when I was in luck. This is Bridgnorth seen...

from High Rock, with St Leonard’s Church rising above the mist. In the distance is Titterstone Clee, 12 miles away as the crow flies. So satisfying when the effort pays off!

Have you ever tried jogging down a muddy path while carrying a heavy camera bag? That was me after spending sunrise on Caer Caradoc, near Church Stretton. As I headed back down the hill I spotted some sheep in a field and realised they were being herded into a lane. I started to run...

trying not to slip over - until I reached a spot where I could see a picture that worked. I quickly opened my bag, grabbed my camera and got off this shot - just seconds before they disappeared.

How I love a misty #Shropshire landscape, with its eerie white silence transporting you into a world of your own. I was standing on the ramparts of Nordy Bank hill fort on Brown Clee for this shot, watching as an ethereal scene unfolded beneath me.
