Destroying habitat for “clean” energy is a dirty trick!
Another destructive solar project approved in n CA -- “There's nothing environmentally friendly about cutting down 4,000 oak trees, the most ecologically valuable native tree in all of North America. Over 2,000 other species depend on them." 🌎 www.capradio.org/articles/202...
SMUD’s controversial Coyote Creek solar project moves forward
The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the project at a packed Tuesday meeting, where over 150 people showed up to voice concerns or support.

Halfway into October are we? (Yes, the insanity at the top continues.) People turned out en masse in the US and around the world yesterday (thank you!). We are apparently giving $20 billion USD to Argentina while talking about adding another $20 billion. All this to a country where they have universal healthcare and free public university education. Meanwhile people here will be losing healthcare and education debt follows you for a lifetime (among other issues).

A remarkable person. A remarkable life. A remarkable positive & lasting legacy.

That is the trinity
of a meaningful life. Susan Stamberg nailed all 3. We are all better for how she lived her life. And we should all act accordingly in our own lives.

Otherwise what’s the point
Susan Stamberg, one of the "founding mothers" of NPR and the first woman to anchor a national nightly news broadcast in the U.S., has died. She was 87. 🧵

They are gleefully cutting services to special ed kids.
How vile!
There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

This guy threads the needle
i told my landlord they're releasing the amelia earhart files and he lowered my rent 50%. i told my grocer and he gave me a free nectarine. i told my doctor and he said i didn't have to pay for the visit. try it. you never know who out there has been waiting for this moment.
