100% of psych residents also passed the boards.

Psych director is overjoyed.

Called me personally to thank me for purchasing Beat the Boards.

(Only sold to individuals, so we purchased for each of the fellows.)

All internal medicine residents passed their boards this year!

Thanks to us getting individual subscriptions to mksap and uworld.

Interesting discussion about individual subscriptions and librarianship over on X

It’s a reasonably civil discussion about the ethics of librarianship between me and @noethematt.bsky.social

My response to a librarian who wrote into medlibs listserv about buying resources from Oncology Nursing Society for her institution when only a few nurses would actually use them.

Interesting conversation with @noethematt.bsky.social on X.

In my opinion, a defensive strategy towards technology has never worked.

Best to find a way to differentiate yourself somehow.

Maybe through buying individual subscriptions?

I keep thinking of Dr. Semmelweiss, a doctor in the 1850s who discovered that doctors who didn’t wash their hands were inadvertently killing new moms.

Doctors were offended because they thought germs came from the air.

Librarians can be champions of free thinkers.

My first full-length research article in JMLA was published yesterday. I interviewed 12 information specialists about the databases they search for systematic review projects, and boy, did they have a lot to say! jmla.pitt.edu/ojs/jmla/art...

I’m a (kind of solo) hospital librarian and after years of a weird type of shame, I gave up on teaching people how to search & just told them to come to me with questions.

Anyone else in the same boat?
