ONS has published the first estimates of the UK GDP growth in 2025Q3. While the overall growth is disappointing 0.1%, there are encouraging changes in its drivers, more due to consumption and investment and less due to government spending.

In two months, the so-called Special Military Operation will surpass the duration of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. During that war, the Soviet Union, where Russians and Ukrainians fought together, shifted the frontline from Moscow and the Caucasus to Berlin.

I actually like the chart - it shows 3 possible future - 2 non-stationary equilibria, where the immense wealth created by AGI is either distributed among all people or hogged by a few Elon Musks with 100% ownership and gazillion compensation. And the trend line if AGI is not achieved.
lmao this is incredible, strong contender for one of the least useful charts ever made

you could do this with anything, draw a straight trend line plus one exponentially up and one exponentially down

average baseball fastball pitch speed in 2050:
0mph, 105mph, or 1000000mph
AI could end scarcity, end humanity - or boost trend growth by 0.2 percentage points

The arrogance of the ruling class ignoramus is breathtaking.
He's going to 'make the case for markets' despite screwing up Britain's place in a very large one, and putting up trade barriers.

Hmm, I do sort of think you might have been able to find some experts who could have gently disagreed with the ideas that foreign producers will pay tariffs. Like which other countries are importers supposed to reliably export from when the President changes the tariffs every week.

Putin is weak and scared, he started a 3 day war, he failed miserably, and there is no way out of it for him. That is why he is falsely portraying himself as religious and merciful leader in front of KGB agents cosplaying as "wounded soldiers"
🤔🤡 Putin came to see the "wounded soldiers". Where are the wounded?

US agreed to lower tariffs for S Korean cars to 15%, in line with what Japan, EU and UK have. In exchange it promised to invest 350 billion in US economy.

US keeps falling back from the tariff hikes it created this summer to something that is more tolerable.
