Shenington with Alkerton Parish Council represents the good folk of Alkerton a tiny hamlet in North Oxfordshire and it's slightly larger 'twin' Shenington, which used to be in Gloucestershire...

Think over the border in Tysoe but noticed this wonderful old tree - hopefully the remaining half will still be growing for a few more decades

Sor Brooke is as high as I have ever seen - the route I ran with the dogs today is now flooded for the first time since drain dug. Road to Chippy terrible - this is not an drill & it's getting worse

Big news in the part of the parish that matters - Alkerton church will not get it's usual monthly clean before it's service. Illness in the Rectory I'm afraid.
Cleaning will now be next Saturday in preparation for the Hamlet Party.
All welcome of course - Shenington excepted...

Lived on this side of Sor Brook for 13 years - never seen it so high so consistently as this year. If warming carries on in this way then Shenington will be without Alkerton... Or vice versa

Not sure where this is - but looks better than the rain all day here.
The day ends with a gentle splash

Not many people out this afternoon - those who were probably regretting getting a dog

It wet and cold in Oxfordshire - here's some pictures from the top of Alkerton Church Tower earlier this year - still haven't gone back up to remove vegetation. My bad

Looks like a feisty Parish Council there has been a complaint that Oct minutes were not correct - although past in Nov.
Oct ended with the Secretary resigning - we managed to unresign him in the pub afterwards.
Oh Dear

Well Lane in Alkerton is looking great tonight - no need for a torch. Moon nearly full. Will take the dogs for an evening run after Thursday if it stays clear. By-election in Chipping Norton makes Thu busy, tomorrow in Oxford for Bellowhead

We may not have some of the spectacular weather/ scenery of some but we do do ancient stuff. First photo St Michael's and All Angels a Grade 1 Norman miniature gem. Across the valley is Holy Trinity Shenington a recent arrival - being C12 and only a Grade 2.

Not much goes on in Shenington but in Alkerton nothing but excitement

Big day in North Oxfordshire the developers behind the Crooked Inn destruction were given the boot by the unanimous support by our friends on Cherwell DC for their 'fishing lake' plan in our Parish. No one brought their BS - thanks to Cllrs from the Lib Dems, Lab, Con, Green & Ind sense prevailed
