Key issues with NDIS “eligibility reassessment” changes - I’m flagging procedural fairness issues and a possible back door for Agency assessments, something already resoundingly rejected by participants & practitioners. + need to make sure groups aren’t targeted.

Real talk from Mark Carrigan about the trash fire that is Twitter now.

Sending this to a few colleagues by text.

I might even log in to my Twitter account for the first time in over a year to post it.

(I haven't deleted as I don't want impersonators)

Academia runs on contacting other academics out of the blue and saying HEY do you wanna do this COOL THING for essentially NO REWARD and equally certainly NO RECOGNITION from your employer and those people going OH MAN that sounds AWESOME sign me up for the COOL NO REWARD NO RECOGNITION EXPERIENCE.

I don’t make the rules 🤷‍♀️☂️
You see it, you share it. Them's the rules.

Seriously, they held signs up at the RNC about this and got basically no pushback on what it would actually look like.

Empathy is my new buzzword. So much of the recent WTF seems like a failure of empathy. I spend a lot of time in the administrative law world and most of that is empathy failure too. Thinking more about this ATM… also, here is a picture of Dr Mr PJ for those missing him from the Bad Place.

Goodbye to the One Letter Bad Place and hello Bluesky! Seriously experiencing some disbelief at the nature of humanity and the utter failure of empathy that has been the US election. It’s a bit beyond words, so please enjoy (??) this cat meme. 🖤💔

Me: Can I get reimbursed for this?

University: Yes, but you'll need to jump through several unpredictable hoops, confront multiple technical hitches, and we will lose your request. It will be the most difficult process you've ever experienced. Shall I send you the forms?
