The Administration acknowledged that it will stop the survey that measures food insecurity, just as tariffs push up food prices and the deep cuts to food assistance enacted in July start to take effect. Congress must intervene to save these vital data. www.wsj.com/economy/trum...

As he released House Rs’ short-term continuing resolution bill, Approps Chair Cole spoke to the importance of “restoring regular order.” Restoring regular order is indeed crucial. But it’s important to be clear about what regular order means. My statement: www.cbpp.org/press/statem...

The Administration has undermined the bipartisan 2025 funding deal by withholding funds, using a partisan rescission bill to cancel funding agreed to on a bipartisan basis, and *remarkably* claiming unilateral authority to hold funds & allow them to expire.

Misunderstood sleeper issue in OBBB cld mean the end of #SNAP as a national food assistance program available in all states. The cost-shift drafting means a state that can’t pay its share of benefits loses ALL fed $; a state that can only pay ½ has to cut enrollment by about ½.

The Trump administration’s release today of limited, additional budget detail confirms once again that the President continues to break his promises to lower families’ costs and help people who are struggling to make ends meet.

House Republicans passed a bill this morning that fails the people they promised to help. It would raise costs on families across the country, making it harder for them to meet basic needs & weather life’s ups & downs — and give ever larger tax cuts to the wealthiest households.

The Trump Admin is reportedly prepping to release a budget proposal as soon as next week that—like the tax & budget bill they're pursuing—appears to be a total repudiation of campaign promises to help ppl who struggle at the margins of our economy, an economy his tariffs may tank.
