New Sounds home, WNYC (which brought you RadioLab, another show that has done magic for me), is facing cuts. Unless New Sounds finds new philanthropic support or a new home, they will cease to exist on May 31. They need to find a major donor to sustain the show www.wnyc.org/shows/newsou...

Two music programs that I grew up with and that have supported me during my career, Echoes and New Sounds could use some help right now. 1/

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

Important to remember. This isn't our first Trump rodeo. People are severely overstating his power in frustration and I get it but we need to be rational.
Current internal battle: Should I be terrified of Trump on main, or should I recognize that pretending like he has powers he does not have helps to grant him those powers.

The deep irony of Bluesky is people just want Demuskified Twitter. The experiment has already failed because most people don't care. Hating algorithms is something people say but don't genuinely believe. Trying to make them tailor their experience is a losing cause. That's too much effort for most.
The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

You know Kendrick won when corporations feel it's brand safe to weigh in on beef labeling Drake a pedophile among other unsavory claims.

I feel like I'm in the minority for liking Ubisoft's approach to open world but the games sell well for a reason. The worlds are interesting and vibrant but it's still nice to have something to do. Getting lost in the world is so rewarding when you get to cross off some (optional) objectives too.
More open world games should make us want to explore a world because it’s interesting and vibrant, not to cross objectives off a map

What's more likely:

1. Youtube is actively pushing a far right agenda against all their messaging and corporate stances

2. People are choosing to watch these videos organically pushing them up the algorithm.

Maybe it's time to accept that these aren't as much a minority as we want to believe.

Can we all agree on a 1-2 week moratorium on politics posting to regroup? Too many hot takes, too many opinions, too many people baselessly thinking "haha! my theory was the right one all along".
Just an FYI. Don’t expect any politics or speculation about what might happen for a while. I’m sure there will be plenty to comment on when the time comes 💯
