I'm writing a dark academia novel that compares the institution of college to the right arm of white supremacy and yet I know readers won't consider it DA enough because it doesn't play into the aesthetics of dark academia. That's not all there is!

The shocking thing about me is that I actually don't enjoy going to bookstores. I often can't afford the books and I've picked up books that I absolutely did not need to own. But today at the airport, I found some books I've never heard of. Here's to reading new genres.

There's so many books I want to read with great premises, but then the reviews are too bad to take a chance on it. I'm really longing for a good romantic subplot with characters that I'll obsess over

My next book is Yellowface but at a plantation museum. But would anyone even want to read this? It less about race and more about what we chose to write about as authors and researchers. But no one wants to touch race with a 30ft pole. Am I fucked?

I think a large reason I haven't been able to connect with other writers is my feeling unlikable. As if everyone can feel my desperation and automatically avoids me. I wish I had something to ease people into knowing me
