To those who don't know me yet, hello! I'm a writer with a fantasy novel in progress, a few short pieces you can find on my website, and a book blog as well.

My favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi, and classics, although I like to mix it up sometimes! Follow for lots of book-related goodness 💙📚
I really should add Misguided (Matthew Facciani's book) to my TBR. Maybe we all should
In today’s media landscape, we’re often not just disagreeing — we’re living in different information worlds. Here, I unpack what research actually says about echo chambers, outrage, and how platform design fuels polarization.

The good news: this isn’t inevitable.
How We Break the Echo Chambers
How human psychology and platform design lock us into separate realities, and what can help break the cycle.

Since I spent last year reading through books on my physical TBR, and did a great job, my reward is more books!

Happy to be able to spend some money to support indie authors, disabled authors, authors from other countries. I can get the big name authors' books from the library; these are a treat

LibraryThing's got a cool feature where you can see what books were owned by historical figures and even compare books to see which of them you've personally read or have on your TBR. Apparently I've read/am currently reading 4 books that MLK owned a copy of. Neat!

My first review of the year! This combination of fantasy and mystery was a great read, but for me it had one drawback

Went to the library tonight and picked up this book of essays to read alongside To Shape a Dragon's Breath. Because I like pairing fiction and nonfiction sometimes 🙂

Partway through the first essay, and I'm already gaining insights from this firsthand account!

That moment when you forgot you were reading a used book because it's in such good condition. And then a random doodle pops up that almost fools you into thinking it's part of the design

In this #blogpost I use charts and stats to reflect on what I read in 2025 and to set reading goals for 2026. Check it out if you're curious or seeking inspiration to set goals other than "x number of books" (because I don't think the number matters)

It’s that time of year again! Time to reflect, to see if I met the goals I set last year, to set new goals for the year ahead. A time to enjoy lots of pretty charts and graphs. So, what were …

6 books read in December! Reading through Snow was a great experience, and How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying (and its sequel) were nice lighthearted reads that added good balance

It's the best blog post of the year, the one where I look back on all the novels I read and highlight the ones that I enjoyed the most! Take a peek for a short description of each, no subscription necessary

Still making my way through Orhan Pamuk's Snow bit by bit. This morning, I read a chapter in which many characters from a troubled Turkish town discuss what they'd say if it could be printed in a German newspaper. What would be their "message to the West?" I want to share some quotes that stood out

The holiday season can be especially hard on writers trying to get their work into the world. If you can help, share, or boost, this is a good place to do it. Supporting authors doesn’t always mean buying a book, sometimes it’s just showing up.

Excerpt: It was refreshing to have a "chosen one" who actually knows what she's doing when it comes to things like combat and military strategy, so it made sense for other characters to look up to her. She isn't just handed power "because the prophecy says so"

I honestly think that many people don't know what their public libraries offer besides books. I think that everyone should go on a public library treasure hunt in 2026. Go explore what your library systems offer at no cost to you. Report back to me :)

This book was emotionally challenging, so much so in the middle portion that I almost couldn't bear to continue reading. I'm glad I did. I learned so much, and I feel as though I see the world a bit more clearly now

Highly recommended for anyone whose education had the same gaps in it as mine
