Yeah, it's a thread...read it.
I know lots of activists (myself included) who've worked themselves into poverty, disability and sometimes death. It's coercive and abusive to try to shame people into continuing to work when they are burnt out and need to take care of themselves.

In my fallin' apart sketchbook I wrote up 4 pages of "free fantasies" of what I'd do if I had more money or other resources. Most of it was lgbt+ and cooperative activism related, but some of it was as simple as just finally getting a pair of prescription eyeglasses and a pair of shoes that fit.

I was just talking to a middle class yt lady about the state of our country. She said that she wanted the country to "go back to being like Mayberry."

...ya know that fictional town from an old tv program.

Pitcher w/o a handle. Stoneware with maiolica and iron oxide. The rest of my pieces, including a new bas relief sculpture and a commissioned tile, are in the queue for firing.

A large double spouted stoneware vessel that I sold to a good friend. This is her photo from her dining room table. I put a lot of myself into this piece and was glad that my friend connected with that. #ceramics #pottery

I'm very mentally tired. My body is ok though, and in fact, I'd love to do some physical work. That always helps with clearing out the crap. A friend of mine hunts a lot, so maybe I can help with that ...like scraping down and treating the hides or making sausage. I also need some quiet and snow.

A large vase that I sold a couple of weeks ago. It was an experiment in pushing the clay and I'm calling it a maximal piece. #ceramics #pottery

It was a challenge, but I made 8 plates that are stackable (6 shown here). The person who commissioned them is very happy with them. I made 2 of the larger plates with the extra flare on the rim. The other one just came out the kiln, so it is not shown here.

This small bas relief was a commissioned piece.

Every day I think things couldn't get worse here and then they do.

The only thing that's going to stop this is a complete economic shutdown of the US.

Yeah, it happens. Sometimes clay or ceramic vessels break. This one was on the dry side of leatherhard and I pressed it too much when I was removing it from the wheelhead after trimming. Well at least I don't have to glaze it!

Tall, coil-built and paddled stoneware vase with a rutile surface. It's the end of a session again, so there's a lot of work that's bisquing. I'll be able to unload some of that tonight and I'll be glazing a set of plates for a friend who commissioned them.

I saw this little snake on my way to the clay studio. I practiced making a set of plates today.

I've been working on a relief that requires some space in my head that I cannot find at the very busy public pottery where I'm volunteering. I've been neglecting it and instead opting for stuff that I can just make and keep in my hands. But I finished some pots today & will revisit that relief soon.

Unfortunately these are headed for the dumpster. Two have cracks that are my fault and two were cracked by whomever loaded them into the bisque firing. I'm still making other pitchers and I might try a smaller and more crenulated version of the large vase.

I've mostly been handbuilding lately, but a couple of days ago I used a potter's wheel and made some small pitchers or creamers. These are drying out for a bisque fire.
